In the middle 1800's Thomas Hutchings, owned the
largest photographic studio in Salt Lake City, Utah

This was the pre-electrification period, when you
wanted a large portrait, a large camera was the
main requirement.  Photographic Enlargement was
done by camera and negative size.

Contact printing was the rule of the day.  Still today
there can be found, practitioners of this nearly lost art.

In keeping with the family tradition of large format
photography, using the "old ways", My focus is in
creating photographic images of classic subject
material.

Landscapes, early 1900's machinery, people of the
"Greatest Generation", are a few examples of the
subject material that inspires my images.
